What still works is to copy a file from phone to a computer, unless you make it stutter before that. You just click and browse through your phone, it worked so far. The reason why use Photos and Windows Photo Viewer (this one cannot read large images it seems, as it is replaced by Photos on Win 10) is because they allow you to view your images and browse without having to make a copy on your hard disk on the computer in hidden folders of every image you click and you do not have to 'Import' i.e copy paste all images from your phone to PC.

Maybe it is Photos problem and not a phone problem? MS are really poor support on that So if the same cable works fine on another laptop it's not the cable, already tried changing USB port on my laptop so it is not the USB port. I tested tone of the two cables on another laptop and there Photos works fine just like on my home laptop it used to work fine. What do you mean log it with oneplus directly.

I tried few others like restarting phone, clearing media data from gallery and Media Storage but no change.

Charging works, data transfer works you can see files except sometimes Windows Explorer stutters especially if I tried to open those JPGs.

Although there may have been Oxygen upgrade within a month ago or so, I was able to use this fine till now.

I thought the cable may malfunction but there was no improvement with another USB C.

it happens when browsing the folders on the phone and when opening a file either from DCIM or screen shot.

I use Photos for any other file on the PC and there are no issues with PC using the app.

I use File Transfer On enable when connected to PC. But I dont want to generate junk by copying or importing copies from phone to PC, just view from phone and delete like how it always worked. Then closing Photos to reopen the image shows 'Sorry Photos can't open this file because the format is currently unsupported, or the file is corrupted.' Ofc if I moved them to view from PC they are all fine.

I open one image then clicking arrow to see next one would show blank. When I saved screenshots from the screen usually they are saved as JPG, using Photos, the windows 10 app, I could open an image and even if I had 200 images in Screenshots\ I could open and arrow to go to next one. I noticed that when I use Windows Explorer for opening a PNG it will load forever and crash the Windows Explorer.
